Li, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, visited an auto plant of Hyundai Motors in Ulsan and made the remarks.

He listened to the introduction of the company, visited an assembly workshop and talked with Hyundai's executives, during which he introduced the measures adopted by the Chinese government to combat the financial crisis and stimulate domestic demand, in particular in its auto industry.

"More efforts can be made to enhance cooperation in technological innovation, new-energy vehicles and other areas," he said.

The Ulsan plant is the world's largest plant, according to introduction from Hyundai. The corporation has several major investments in China. The company executives told Li that their joint ventures in China have planned to increase output in 2009.

ROK is the last leg of Li's four-nation tour which has already taken him to Australia, Myanmar and Japan.
