The Ethiopian government on Wednesday signed an agreement with the World Economic Forum to host the World Economic Forum on Africa, which is slated for September next year.

The agreement was signed between the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and President of the World Economic Forum, Borge Brende, in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on Wednesday, the Ethiopian Prime Minister's Office said in a statement.

The agreement between the Ethiopian government and the World Economic Forum came after the Ethiopian PM expressed his country's interest to host the regional edition of the forum during his meeting with the founder of World Economic Forum, Professor Klaus Schwab on the margins of this year's World Economic Forum held in January in Davos, Switzerland.
