Three Gorges Corporation becomes official partner of 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics

The China Three Gorges Corporation became an official partner of the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing after a signing ceremony on Tuesday, aiming to promote clean energy.

The ceremony, held at the National Swimming Center "Ice Cube," was attended by senior officials of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, Beijing municipality, North China's Hebei Province and the China Three Gorges Corporation.

It is hoped that China Three Gorges Group will give full play to its corporate advantages and practice the concept of "clean energy empowering the Winter Olympics," said Chen Jining, Mayor of Beijing and Executive President of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, said at the ceremony.

By participating in the preparation of the Winter Olympics, the corporation will show the world the elegance of Chinese national brands and promote the development of China's clean energy industry, he said.

Lei Mingshan, Party Secretary and Chairman of China Three Gorges Corporation, said that becoming the official partner of the Beijing Winter Olympics is the highest honor and important opportunity for the China Three Gorges Group, which will inject strong impetus for the company to enhance its global brand reputation and accelerate the creation of a world-class enterprise.  

China Three Gorges Group was born with the Three Gorges Dam and has been striving to implement clean energy and ecological environmental protection of the Yangtze River, becoming the world's largest hydropower development enterprise and China's largest clean energy company.  

Up to now, China Three Gorges Corporation has a total installed capacity of 138 million kilowatts and has contributed 3 trillion kilowatt hours of clean electricity. 

So far, the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee has signed sponsorship deals with 38 companies, including 11 official partners, such as the Bank of China, Air China, China Unicom, Shougang and Sinopec.
