Maslenitsa Celebrations in Russia: Setting Corona on Fire at Nikola-Lenivets Art Park

A huge art object made of natural material has been prepared in the Nikola-Lenivets art park in the Kaluga region.

This year Maslenitsa, a traditional festival, is celebrated with the burning of a massive art piece in the theme of the COVID-19 pandemic at the Nikola-Lenivets Art Park in Kaluga Oblast.

Maslenitsa is an Eastern Slavic folk holiday, celebrated during the last week before Great Lent preceding Orthodox Easter. Some traditional Maslenitsa activities involve eating pancakes, fist fighting, snowball fights, sleigh rides and burning "Lady Maslenitsa" that represents winter.
