Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed strengthening military training and combat readiness to enhance the capabilities to fulfill missions and tasks, while inspecting a mobile corps of the People’s Armed Police Force in East China’s Fujian Province.

Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), inspected the training of the corps on Wednesday, the Xinhua News Agency reported on Friday.

Xi inspected professional training in the operation and use of anti-explosive equipment, chemical reconnaissance and cleaning, application of construction machinery and bridge building. Later, he watched a video presentation about the building of the corps and listened to the report of certain tasks.

Xi stressed the need to adhere to the bottom-line thinking, strengthen task planning to ensure that any situation can be quickly and effectively responded to, and tasks can be completed well.

As for the military training, Xi called for full implementation of the spirit from the Central Military Commission meeting on military training, focusing on war preparation, intensifying training in actual combat, strengthening the adaptation training to meet the needs of diverse tasks, enhancing the training of new forces and equipment, and raising training quality, Xinhua reported.

Xi also noted that it is necessary to modernize the armed forces and accelerate the upgrading of their combat capabilities, Xinhua said. He stressed that the armed police force should be “absolutely loyal, absolutely pure and absolutely reliable,” and welcome the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China with outstanding achievements.
