Spy thriller
Cliff Walkers continued to lead the Chinese mainland box office on Wednesday, the last day of the five-day May Day holiday, with a daily revenue of 78.86 million yuan ($12.18 million).
The earning of the movie, the first foray of Chinese director Zhang Yimou into the spy genre, accounted for 38.53 percent of China's daily box-office sales, which totaled 204.67 million yuan on Wednesday.
In terms of box-office revenue, Zhang's movie was followed by romantic drama
My Love, which pocketed more than 51.51 million yuan on Wednesday, according to data from the China Movie Data Information Network.
Crime thriller
Break Through the Darkness and action movie
Once Upon a Time in Hong Kong respectively ranked third and fourth, with daily revenues of nearly 21 million yuan and 17.5 million yuan.
