Hundreds of people in Kuwait held on Tuesday a protest against Israeli operations at East Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

Demonstrators in Kuwait City's Al-Erada Square chanted slogans to express support for Palestine while holding flags of Kuwait and Palestine.

Issam Al-Kazemi, a Kuwaiti citizen that participated in the protest, said that "we participated today because we consider the Palestinian conflict as ours, we are to deliver a message to every Palestinian that we support you and we stand by you, where all Kuwaitis support the Palestinian cause and will never give up on them."

Lulwa Al-Mulla, head of the Kuwaiti Women's Cultural and Social Society, said that "Palestine will always be the first case to discuss in Kuwait."

"We have been called up today to support our Palestinian brothers to demand justice for them," she told Xinhua.

Earlier in the day, Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah condemned Israeli operations at Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

He reaffirmed Kuwait's firm position against these actions and called on Israel to cease these actions immediately and respect the rights of the Palestinian people.

Kuwait stands by the Palestinian people and supports all efforts aimed at reaching a just and comprehensive solution for the Palestinian cause, the emir said.
