The Chinese mainland will take all necessary measures to hold stubborn Taiwan secessionists accountable with no liability period, a spokesperson from the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said on Wednesday in response to a question as to  whether Wu Jaushieh, the island's leader of external affairs, is on a mainland blacklist.

Wu has recently been quite active and frequently spoke up to push forward the Democratic Progressive Party's secessionist agenda, which has been slammed repeatedly by the Taiwan Affairs Office, prompting speculation that Wu was on the "stubborn Taiwan secessionists" list.

Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson of the Taiwan Affairs office, said at a Wednesday press conference that Wu was being provocative on the topic and smeared the mainland and hyped opposition between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits. It jeopardizes the peace and stability of the Taiwan Straits and harms the interests of mainland and Taiwan people.

For such stubborn Taiwan secessionists, "we will take all necessary measures to hold them accountable, with no liability period," Zhu said.

The spokesperson also said that the crackdown on secessionists is the premise to maintain and develop cross-Straits relations.
