A total of 22 films marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) are set to be re-released in 2021, according to Chinese ticketing platform Maoyan on Monday.

The films are based on different themes including the Korean War (the war to resist US aggression and aid Korea) and the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1931-45).

The oldest film is From Victory to Victory, which premiered in 1952, and the most recent ones are action film Operation Red Sea and Wolf Warrior 2, which screened in 2018 and 2017.

In March, China's State Council Information Office announced the release of a batch of outstanding literary and artistic works of drama, music, dance, film and TV with a high ideological and artistic level, according to a report by People's Daily.
