A subsidiary of Italian luxury fashion brand Fendi was fined by Chinese regulators for producing substandard products, according to public information platform tianyancha.

The fine was given to Fendi Commercial & Trading (Shanghai) Co in Shanghai, totalling 140,000 yuan ($2,189). In addition, the local market regulator in Shanghai also confiscated around 4,250 yuan that was made from selling the substandard products.

The company has previously been fined for reasons including quality issues and tax avoidance.

Another Western clothing brand, H&M, was also fined recently. In May, H&M Hennes & MAURITZ (Shanghai) Commercial Co was fined three times by local market regulators for producing and selling substandard products and for false advertizing.
