Local authorities in rural Indonesia are offering live chickens as an incentive for older residents to get vaccinated against COVID-19. The program, in Cianjur regency, West Java, is part of the district's effort to increase the number of vaccines administered to citizens aged 45 and over.

The COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose by 13,668 within one day to 2,018,113, with the death toll adding by 335 to 55,291, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
