A new edition of the Chinese version of
The Communist Manifesto, published by the Central Compilation & Translation Press, debuted Friday at Beijing's National Art Museum of China.
Sporting a photo of a sculpture of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels created by artist Wu Weishan, also the president of NAMOC, on the cover, the new edition proofread by a team from Guangxi Normal University is based on the seven Chinese versions published before the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, including the very translation by Chen Wangdao in 1920.
The sculpture of Marx and Engels was first unveiled at the Central Compilation and Translation Bureau of the Communist Party of China on January 27, 2015.
