The national surfing championships came to an end on Sunday in Beihai, South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, with Huang Yaoshu of Team Fujian and Zhang Qiqi of Team Hainan winning the under-18 titles in the boys' and girls' competitions.

Su Rui of Team Shandong and Dou Xiaojia of Team Zhejiang respectively won the boys' and girls' under-15 race. Zhang hailed the wave conditions at Beihai, saying competing at such venue was able to improve her skills as she aims to compete for China at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Zhou Changcheng, a senior official of China's water sports governing body, said conditions at Beihai are suitable for not only surfing competitions, but also sailing and yachting.
