I doubly pine for my kinsfolk on holiday.
I know my brothers would, with dogwood spray in hand,
Climb up the mountain and miss me so far away.

Wang Wei, a versatile Tang Dynasty (618-907) poet who also had a talent for music and painting. Besides his achievements in poetry, he is regarded as the pioneer of the Southern School of Chinese landscape art.
