Chinese e-sports player Ming Kai (Clearlove) joins CPC

Chinese e-sports player Ming Kai (Clearlove) on Tuesday took the oath and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Shanghai, Chinese e-sports club EDG (EDward Gaming) announced via its official social media account. He is also the first Chinese e-sports LPL (League of Legends Pro League) player that formally joined CPC.

EDG e-sports club which Ming belongs to won the 2021 LOL World Championship. Ming is one of the founding members of EDG and his work number at the e-sports club is 001. Ming has been active as a professional LOL (League of Legends) player for 10 years and has won several international championships including the first LOL World Championship for LPL (League of Legends Pro League), the top professional league of LOL in China. 

Fans hailed the move as "legendary" on Chinese social media platforms, with many saying they felt honored to be among his fans.

Ming's oath formalizing his joining to the CPC was led by Ji Xing, another CPC member in Chinese e-sports industry. Ji is the coach and general manager of EDG e-sports club, who joined the CPC in 2011 and won the gold medal during Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games.
