China’s snowboard rider Su Yiming won his first major career title after taking gold at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski and Snowboard World Cup at Steamboat Ski Resort in Colorado, US on Saturday.

Su made history to become the first rider representing China to secure a World Cup big air title by scoring a total of 155.25 points in the men’s big air event.

Su showed great skills by giving a backside 1800 Indy grab and a frontside 1800 tail grab in his first two runs, and with a nice landing he became the first rider to complete the move in FIS competitions.

"I still cannot believe this just happened. I'm really hyped to compete along with all the boys. They killed it. I have so much respect for them," Su told the media after the competition. “It feels incredible.”

The 17-year-old Chinese snowboarder is not only shining in the field of sports, but also in the entertainment industry.

He has participated in a few films, including director Xu Ke’s The Taking of Tiger Mountain in 2014.

“He is such a talented young man, we all got his back,” a netizen wrote on China’s Twitter-like Sina Weibo.
