Various kinds of Sufganiyot, traditional Hanukkah jelly-filled donuts fried in oil, are for sale during the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.

Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, is an eight-day Jewish holiday commemorating the rededication of the Holy Temple.

On Hanukkah, Jews observe the custom of eating fried foods in commemoration of the miracle associated with the Temple oil.
