By the end of November, the first power grid in Xizang Autonomous Region had transmitted 8.767 billion kWh of inbound electricity and 5.677 billion kWh of outbound electricity, directly creating 1.457 billion yuan ($228.73 million) of economic benefit to the local economy, according to the official WeChat account of the State Grid on Sunday.

December 9 was the 10th anniversary of the power grid.

Three power transmission lines of the Sichuan-Xizang power grid, middle Xizang power grid and Ngari Prefecture power grid represent the highest and most difficult to construct grid build in a highly varied natural environment.

With the boost of a stable power supply, Xizang's GDP in first three quarters of 2021 hit 144.035 billion yuan, nearly three times of Xizang's GDP in 2010. In Ngari Prefecture, the power grid also improved the local business environment.
