The Exhibition of Donated Works by the Chinese National Academy of Arts kicked off at the Yanhuang Art Museum in Beijing on Thursday.

According to the organizers, these paintings inspired by the country and people were donated by their creators so that more people can appreciate art. Themed "Send Love to the People," the exhibition includes 153 sketches and paintings in the traditional Chinese genres of figures, landscapes, and flowers and birds. They are also the result of a project established by the Chinese Painting Department of the Chinese National Academy of Arts in 2014 that saw artists visit places throughout China such as Wuxi, Qingdao, Changchun and Wudanjiang.

The exhibition is set to run until Tuesday.
