1921, a red film celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), will be screened permanently in Beijing and Shanghai as part of a special education program promoting CPC's history. 

According to a launch event at the Memorial for the First National Congress of the CPC in Shanghai on Monday, the two sites are a cinema near the memorial and a cinema in the Museum of the CPC in Beijing. 

After visiting the memorial in Shanghai, visitors take a short walk to watch 1921. In Beijing, visitors need to book tickets online first before watching it at the Museum of the CPC.

Starring Chinese actors Huang Xuan and Ni Ni, 1921 tells the story of the young Chinese who gathered in Shanghai to found the CPC on July 1, 1921.

"We knew that this is not only a movie, but also a vivid reproduction of that precious history meant to relay the red revolutionary spirit. Looking back at the past 100 years, the spark will be passed on forever, and we hope that it will be screened for a long time. 1921 can span time and space and become a window for generations of young people to understand history," said Cheng Wu, the movie's producer, at the event.
