Gui Street, a stage drama inspired by the same-named street in Beijing known for its various restaurants debuted at the National Performing Centre for Local Operas on Saturday and Sunday.

Following the stories of two families living on the street over three generations, the drama produced by the Beijing Performance & Arts Group depicts the city's rapid development through dialogues and stage designs full of Beijing's unique style.

The lead actor Hou Yansong said he hopes that audiences can better understand the people and events that took place on this renowned street through the experiences of Li Yidao, the character he plays.
