Nearly 300 skiing enthusiasts participated in the 2022 Super Orienteering Ski Open held in Yabuli, Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province on Saturday.

Team "What You Said Are Right" won the race in 1:26:27.8, with its squad coming from Beijing, Langfang and Taipei, qualifying for the series final on February 26 in Beidahu in Heilongjiang's neighboring Jilin Province.

Heilongjiang is considered the powerhouse of China's skiing talent, with over 280 athletes from the province representing China at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, which will take place from February 4 to 20.

Organizers also offered free skiing training for kids under 12 years old, as they aim to promote winter sports among younger generations. The race in Yabuli saw 70 minors participating, a record for the series, a sign of the growing popularity of winter sports in the province.
