Recently, a man surnamed Wang from Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu Province, joined a part-time chat group for click farming after learning a lot of anti-fraud knowledge, and ended up getting scammed of 46,000 yuan ($7,287).

According to Wang, he was convinced he had enough knowledge about how fraud works, so he joined the chat group. At first, Wang managed to withdraw 105 yuan, but after transferring more than 46,000 yuan, the fraudster refused to return the money. After Wang called the police, he said he knew it was a scam at the beginning. But he thought that the other party would return the money in the first three tasks in a conventional manner, and wanted to make money in this way. However, he apparently got fooled.

The police dealing with the case said it was the first time they had met someone who had contacted the swindler initiatively.

Netizens said that this is what is called "penny wise and pound foolish."
