A middle-school teacher in Pingdu, Qingdao, East China's Shandong Province, taught in an empty classroom to improve the effect of online classes on Sunday. The videographer who posted the teacher's video online said that the lecturer is a math teacher, surnamed Kong. Due to the epidemic, Kong found that the courseware was not efficient to teach online, so he went to school to teach the class live by himself to enhance the sense of immersion.

Netizens were moved by his conscientiousness and concern for students. "We hope the epidemic will end soon so that students can return to school and study with classmates and teachers," one netizen commented, receiving thousands of likes on Weibo.

Kong's passionate lectures were also recognized by students. Many students said that after seeing the teacher working so hard to help them study, they would not slack off, adding that they hope to return to campus as soon as possible so that the teacher does not have to teach in front of cameras. "I am proud to have such a great math teacher, and I am confident that we can overcome the inevitable challenges posed by the pandemic," a student said.

As of 24 pm on Sunday, 48 new local confirmed cases were reported in Qingdao.
