Mercedes-Benz (China) Automotive Sales Co. has begun recalling over 120,300 imported and domestically produced vehicles from the Chinese market over safety concerns. The recall started on Monday, according to the country's top quality watchdog, and is the firm’s second recall in a month.

The models involved are imported CLA vehicles and A-Class vehicles manufactured between November 10, 2020 and September 25, 2021 and domestically manufactured A class vehicles and GLB SUVs manufactured between July 7, 2020 and August 19, 2021, according to a statement released by the State Administration for Market Regulation.

The affected cars have defective pin bolts, which may affect the braking performance and increase the risk of accidents, said the administration.

The recall also involves 120,297 imported ML, GL and R-Class vehicles manufactured between April 28, 2005 and August 31, 2015.

The affected cars may have braking performance that is affected due to rust on the equipment after long-term use, the administration said.

The luxury carmaker promised to inspect and change the defective parts free of charge.

This marks the second recall by the German carmaker in a month.

On May 7, Mercedes-Benz recalled 2,367 locally made and imported cars in China due to concerns about flawed components and assembly issues that could pose safety hazards.
