Chinese e-commerce platform Suning.com said on Wednesday that the its operation remains normal and it refuted recent online rumors saying that it had applied for liquidation.

According to a report by news site chengdu.cn on Tuesday, there have been market rumors saying that two suppliers have filed for liquidation of Suning.com at Nanjing Intermediate Court, East China's Jiangsu Province.

The report said the information came from a legal service association under Ten Billions of Industrial Institute.

The service association said in a statement on its website on Wednesday that it will submit another batch of liquidation applications to the court during the week, and may keep submitting a batch every week thereafter until the court makes a formal ruling on whether to accept them in order to quell speculation.

On July 5, the service association posted that it helped two suppliers initiate the process of applying to the Nanjing Intermediate People's Court on July 4 for the liquidation of Suning.com and registered with the trial service system.

A staff member from the association told chengdu.cn that more than 150 suppliers came to the association to seek legal assistance, adding that Suning.com is supposed to repay the two suppliers in 10 installments but hasn't yet paid the first installment.

In 2021, Suning.com generated a total of 138.9 billion yuan in revenue, down 44.94 percent year-on-year, while the net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was minus 43.3 billion yuan, down 912.11 percent on a yearly basis, data from the company's 2021 financial report showed in April.
