China and Pakistan have witnessed strengthened bilateral relations and more extensive cooperation in a range of fields, especially in the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which analysts pointed out helped lay the foundation for Pakistan's sustained economic modernization.

Meanwhile, the two countries have also demonstrated the spirit of support and true friendship amid hardships. "The Dasu Hydropower Project of China Gezhouba Group Company Limited organized a flood relief activity where the management made donations of almost 400 packages of food supplies to the local flood victims in order to help them mitigate their sufferings due to heavy floods," Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong wrote on Twitter on September 15.

This is one of the latest consignment of humanitarian relief goods that China sent to Pakistan as the country continues to suffer from the devastating impacts of floods in the nation which have led to more than 1,500 deaths and affected 33 million people.

The Pakistani people are really grateful to China for its quick response in providing the various required relief items and cash assistance. China was the first country to respond on the call from the Pakistani government in an effective manner and proved that both nations are true friends and good brothers by sharing weal and woes, Muhammad Zamir Assadi, a journalist with Independent News Pakistan, told the Global Times.

According to Assadi, Chinese relief items provided by China's government, people, and Chinese companies have been dispatched to various affected areas and distributed. While receiving the relief items provided by the Chinese side, recipients of China's donations affected by floods expressed their gratitude to Chinese government and people for the goodwill shown by China and its people toward them.

"People have also witnessed impressive images as Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong has himself visited Dera Bugti in Balochistan province and distributed the relief goods to the flood victims," he said.

On this occasion, people warmly raised the slogans of "Long Live Pak-China friendship" as the much needed relief goods meet their daily needs, Assadi added.
