Chinese electric-car upstart NIO said on Wednesday that flare-ups of the pandemic have had an impact on its production, but it still saw a surge in deliveries last month.
NIO's two factories in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui Province have suspended production, media reports said, citing the effects of prevention and containment requirements.
The epidemic has had an impact on NIO's production and deliveries, the company confirmed with the Global Times on Wednesday, but it still delivered 10,059 vehicles in October, a surge of 174.3 percent from the year before.
In the first 10 months, deliveries reached about 92,500 units, media reports said.
Anhui recorded zero new confirmed cases and five new asymptomatic infections on Tuesday, the local health commission said on Wednesday.
In a report on Wednesday, the National Business Daily cited a message from NIO founder and CEO William Li Bin to car owners via the NIO App, saying that production of vehicles and auto parts will hopefully return to normal in November and the company will deliver cars as soon as possible.
