86-year-old man finishes the Beijing Marathon, touching a lot of young people

The 2022 Beijing Marathon started out at Tiananmen Square and ran 42.195 kilometers to finish at Beijing Olympic Park. Surprisingly, the last runner was an 86-year-old man. His steady pace and unwavering faith greatly moved people at the scene and gave audiences positive energy. 

At the finish line, people kept cheering him on. According to media reports, the old man, Zhang Shun, is a retired employee of the North China Electric Power Research Institute and has run more than 20 marathons in his sports life. 

His pace was slow, but during the six-hour race, Zhang kept moving forward without stopping once. 

The scene of Zhang's desperate dash to the finish line impressed many viewers and Chinese netizens on social media platforms. 

"It was amazing to watch it. There were actually other old people who insisted on running on the track, and watching their smiling faces when running really moved me," an audience said. "There is no age limit for love, and the old man's unwavering belief is more worthy of our young people's learning," one netizen commented.
