A primary school teacher in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi Province, surprised and delighted her students by giving them more than 140 kilograms of cabbage as rewards.

The English teacher, surnamed Wu, said that she wanted to reward her students for their good performance and great progress in the exam. "I used to award them stationery and snacks, but this time I wanted to give them something different," she said.

"I saw cabbage for sale on the way to work, and I suddenly thought of using these as rewards for students," said Wu.

The teacher also encouraged the children to use the cabbage they received to cook a meal for their parents, "I want parents to feel the joy of their children's progress as well," she said.
