A soccer production company in Yiwu, East China's Zhejiang Province, has supplied 100,000 commemorative balls for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, featuring logos of the Qatar World Cup, mascots and national flags of the 32 countries that entered the competition.

Wu Xiaoming, head of the company, said they received the order for the World Cup in July and managed to deliver it to the customer over the next 50 days after producing and shipping amid the epidemic.

He stressed that the balls produced and supplied for the World Cup were commemorative balls, not match balls.

It is reported that the enterprise can produce and sell more than 2 million soccers to different parts of the world every year.

"Our balls are used by leagues in many countries around the world," Wu said, adding that their products are also constantly innovating to overcome the problems of water absorption and circumference of the ball, which is one of the reasons for its popularity."

According to estimates by Yiwu Sports Goods Association, products made in Yiwu accounted for almost 70 percent of the World Cup souvenirs in Qatar.

Almost everything from flags, cheering horns, whistles, footballs, scarves and World Cup decorations came from what Chinese netizens call the "world supermarket."
