Chinese logistics shows upward trend brought by supportive policies: industry data

Chinese logistics industry shows resilience, although the recovery rate has shown a slight downward trend, industry data showed on Wednesday, and predicted that the industry will show an upward trend, given continuous supportive policies. 

The total amount of logistics nationwide was 301.9 trillion yuan ($43.29 trillion) in the first 11 months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 3.4 percent, and the growth rate was 0.2 percentage points lower than that from January to October, data from China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing showed on Wednesday. 

From January to November, the total logistics volume of the high-tech manufacturing industry increased by 8.0 percent year-on-year, 4.2 percentage points faster than the industrial product logistics; the logistics volume of the equipment manufacturing industry increased by 6.2 percent year-on-year, 2.4 percentage points faster than the industrial product logistics. 

In addition, the demand for e-commerce express logistics has achieved rapid growth.

From January to November, the online retail sales of physical goods increased by 6.4 percent year-on-year, accounting for an increase of 0.9 percentage points in the total retail sales of social consumer goods, which has maintained growth for three consecutive months.

The Ministry of Transport said on Wednesday that it will strengthen transportation and logistics in the coming Spring Festival holidays 

Passengers will no longer be checked for negative nucleic acid test certificates and health codes, landing inspections will no longer be carried out, and temperature measurements will no longer be implemented, the Ministry said. 

Data from the Ministry of Transport showed that the civil aviation industry had 580 cargo flights on Tuesday, a month-on-month growth of 46.8 percent.

SF Express told the Global Times on Wednesday that it has opened a cargo fight from Baotao, North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, to Hangzhou in East China's Zhejiang Province with a stop at Taiyuan on Monday. It is the first all-cargo route for Baotou, and it will fly five times per week.

As the Spring Festival holidays approach, there will be a new round of business peaks coming. SF Express said it will also expand its capacity in the near future to ensure industrial chain and supply chain for market demand.

Alibaba's Cainiao Network told the Global Times that it will coordinate multiple resources and make every effort to ensure smooth logistics channels for the coming Spring Festival holidays. 

Cainiao will continue to provide different types of solutions such as single-warehouse delivery nationwide and multi-region warehouse distribution, and transport more than 20 cities with hundreds of vehicle trunk lines to improve the response speed of the supply chain, the company said.
