The video of a 15-year-old boy in East China's Zhejiang Province doing stone skipping went viral online, showing each stone not only performing hundreds of jumps on the water surface, but also accurately hitting a balloon floating on the water.

Shen Danyao, a middle- school student, has been playing stone skipping near his home since he was only 4 years old. "Stone skipping is actually a game that children like to play, and I often engage in this recreational activity with my son," said Shen's father.

In 2022, Shen won the country's first stone-skipping competition in Southwest China's Guizhou Province, where more than 300 competitors took part. Shen's stone beat over 100 times during the game, which has already broken the previous Guinness world record in the number.

Although Shen's record has yet to be officially recognized by Guinness, the young boy's prowess has already been recognized. "Shen is not only interested in stone skipping, but also has amazing talent," Guinness said on its official Weibo account, adding that they are looking forward to Shen's application to make the new world record.
