Blind massage therapist developed engine components to improve the thermal efficiency of internal combustion engines and obtained three national patents for inventions. "I just want to make a contribution to society by saving energy and reducing emissions through my invention," he said.

Wang Shaocheng, 42, is a blind massage therapist in North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Through years of research, Wang has invented a set of rack-and-pinion structure engine assembly, which obtained three national patents.

Although Wang lost his sight at the age of 16 due to illness, he never gave up studying and innovating machines.

Although Wang's road to innovation has been fraught with obstacles due to his blindness, he says his wife has always helped and supported him, especially with his reading and writing. "I really appreciate my wife and I'll keep working on it," he said.
