Xie Xiaoying is a volunteer teacher in Zibo, East China's Shandong Province. In 2016, she and several friends set up a livestreaming teaching team on social media platforms. At present, the team has 32 volunteer teachers from all over the country, who take turns to carry out live online education courses for schools in remote mountainous areas. So far, their livestreaming courses have reached more than 6,800 rural schools in 23 provinces across the country via the internet, benefiting more than 230,000 students.

In order to arouse the students' interests, Xie and her collegues have developed many courses including dance, art, physical exercises, and so on.

"I feel very proud that I have helped these children get a good education and learn more things," one of the volunteer teachers surnamed Wang said. "I hope this kind of public welfare activity can be passed on forever," Wang noted.
