In March during the spring time, when the grass grows and the warblers fly, plum flowers and peach blossoms start to bloom across large areas in the northern part of Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, attracting both Chinese and foreign tourists.

With the azure sky above and the green grass beneath one's feet, you can enjoy eye-catching flowers, and take in the refreshing fragrance in the air. Tourists enjoy the spring scenery with their laughter and cheerful conversation echoing through the mountains and forests.

Tourists from overseas

On March 11, tourists from Russia, Ukraine and other countries entered Yinhe village and Jinfeng township in Chongqing's Yubei District.

After walking deep inside the plum flower tree orchard, Idrisov Arslan from Russia improvised an adapted version of "The Girl from Daban Town," a popular Uyghur folk song: "Yinhe village in Yubei is so beautiful with white and pretty plum flowers; Yinhe village in Yubei is so good and the plum flowers are waiting for you to come."

"Yubei is stunning. The trees, flowers and air here are so fresh and appealing," said Nodira, a foreign student from Uzbekistan.

"I come here to enjoy the beauty of nature. It is so pretty here. Flowers are everywhere. I will come and visit this place more often in the future," said Ovi Abul Hussain from Bangladesh.

Tourists experience tie dyeing, a state-level intangible cultural heritage

"We also experienced ancient tie-dyeing, which people use to craft exquisite handkerchiefs using simple materials," said Abdoulaye Abanchime from Cameroon. "The teacher said that everyone can produce their distinctive results through tie dyeing. I came to realize the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture."

At the tie-dyeing workshop, Miss Kamonchanok Tonlo from Thailand also performed Thai traditional dance.

In Yinhe village, trees are covered with clusters of plum flowers, which look like white snow from afar, and ice flowers from near. The village is said to have half of the mountains covered with plum flowers and half covered with "snow."

In Jinfeng township, the peach blossoms are like jade and pile up on the branches, creating a dreamland.

In recent years, Yubei District has promoted the integration of agriculture, culture and tourism, popularizing the slogan of "A beautiful city with mountains and rivers." It has developed ecotourism, and improved the infrastructure and overall experience of tourist attractions.
