Honduran political and business representatives have expressed their confidence and hopes for economic and trade cooperation with China at the first bilateral high-level business exchange meeting, as well as anticipation for Honduran products entering the Chinese market, Yang Fan, spokesperson for the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), said at Friday's press briefing.

Since China and Honduras established diplomatic relations in March this year, the business cooperation has been stepped up, such as inviting business delegations from Honduras to visit Chinese cities including Beijing and East China's Jiangsu Province. The first China-Honduras high-level business exchange meeting was held during the visit to China in June by President of Honduras Iris Xiomara Castro Sarmiento, the spokesperson said.

A Honduran business delegation praised China's economic and social development, large-scale market and growing high-end consumer group, as well as its achievements in infrastructure, new high-tech, digital economy and other fields, said Yang.

Foreign Minister of Honduras Eduardo Enrique Reina expects more high-quality products to enter the Chinese market. Laura Suazo, secretary of Agriculture and Livestock of Honduras, said that Honduran coffee, bananas, seafood and other products will have a good market in China, according to Yang.

Meanwhile, Honduran representatives hope that the CCPIT will continue to provide information consultation and commercial law services for Honduran enterprises in cooperation with Chinese companies, building more platforms for political and business exchanges for the two sides. More Chinese enterprises have also been welcomed to invest in Honduras, Yang noted.

After China and Honduras signed agreements to strengthen cooperation, China has opened its arms to businesses from Honduras as there's plenty of demand in China for Honduras' products, experts have noted.
