Wang Dayang, a 51-year-old inheritor of intangible cultural heritage, used tens of thousands of straws to form a mortise and tenon structure, taking a year to make a model of the Tian'anmen Rostrum in Jinan, East China's Shandong Province on Tuesday.

Wang said that he has been doing straw carvings for more than 10 years, and now it took him a year to make the Tian'anmen Rostrum according to the ratio of 1 to 75, in order to pass on the straw carving so that this traditional craft will not be lost.

According to Wang, he works an average of eight hours a day and until 10 pm every night, but he doesn't feel tired, because his love supports him to keep doing it. He is prepared to donate this work to a museum so that more people can enjoy his craft.

Netizens who watched the video praised Wang's spirit of craftsmanship and believed that many traditional cultures deserve to be preserved and passed on. "If young people can inherit these skills, our civilization will be more splendid."
