China is deeply concerned about the current escalation in tensions and violence between Israel and Palestine and calls on all relevant parties to remain calm and restrained, to cease hostilities immediately, to protect civilians, and to prevent the situation from deteriorating further, Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.

The international community should heighten its sense of urgency, intensify its commitment to the Palestinian issue, and encourage both the Israeli and Palestinian sides to resume peace talks soon, seeking a path to lasting peace. China will continue to work tirelessly alongside the international community to achieve this goal, the ministry said.
