Welcome to another episode of the GT Podcast with Mulan – a one-stop shop for the Global Times’ take on top China and global news.

In today’s podcast:

With the entire world watching closely, the leaders of China and the US concluded a high-stakes meeting in San Francisco, reaching a number of areas of consensus on topics ranging from AI to military communication.

There are plenty of dire depictions and predictions about the Chinese economy in Western media. But on the ground in China, the country’s economic recovery continues to pick up pace.

The Western media have been relentlessly smearing boarding schools in Southwest China’s Xizang. But in fact, these schools pave the way, the only way, for local children to fulfil their dreams.

The US and the UK like to lecture others on human rights, but they have an appalling track record in the regard. In Chagos, a small archipelago in the middle of the Indian Ocean, they committed crimes against humanity.

Digital artwork on display in the US city of Boston has wowed local residents and let them experience Chinese history and culture.
