The China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), the first national exhibition worldwide themed on supply chain, is an open platform that China has set up to safeguard global industrial and supply chain stability, Mao Ning, a spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, said at a regular press briefing on Thursday.

Mao said that the Chinese government always pays close attention to maintaining smooth and stable industrial and supply chain in the world, and boosts international cooperation in this regard with due actions.

Mao said there are five major exhibitions areas covering smart cars, green agriculture, clean energy, digital technology and healthy life at the CISCE. To date, more than 500 companies from 55 countries and regions have expressed their will to participate, including a good number of Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders.

The enthusiasm of enterprises reflects that maintaining industrial and supply chain stability is an important guarantee for sustaining global economic development as well as fulfilling the expectations of the people, and "decoupling" would benefit no one in the world, which is infeasible, Mao said.

"As a beneficiary and advocator of integrated development of global supply chain, China is committed to high-level opening up and will together with all countries to build a global industrial and supply chain system featured by safety and stability, smooth operation and efficiency, and win-win cooperation," she said.

The CISCE will be held from November 28 to December 2 in Beijing. According to the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the number of US exhibitors registered for the first CISCE is much higher than expected, accounting for 20 percent of all overseas exhibitors.
