Recently, a netizen in Shanghai posted a video claiming that a diamond selected by a customer disappeared from the jewelry store counter, attracting widespread attention. Upon reviewing the surveillance footage, it was discovered that the diamond was actually swallowed by a cat. 

The netizen posted multiple surveillance videos showing a female staff member handling something on the glass counter of a jewelry store in Shanghai on December 29, 2023. A large white cat on the counter was seen casually playing with what appeared to be jewelry items. The netizen stated that the diamond box was open and the customer had just left. "As a result, the cat ate it with gusto and swallowed the diamond." 

On January 2, a female employee responded that the diamond had been retrieved. "It is a genuine diamond, an irregular-shaped diamond, weighing approximately 0.5 carat." The employee revealed that upon learning that the cat had swallowed the diamond, they went to a pet store and gave the cat medication to facilitate its bowel movement. "Our boss used gloves to retrieve it from the feces."
