China's Ministry of State Security on Tuesday revealed a case involving an employee in a key position from a state-owned enterprise who was targeted by foreign spies during an overseas visit. The disclosure of this case aims to raise public awareness, reminding people to exercise caution and safeguard national security interests.

The case involves an employee, Li Si (pseudonym), who was a crucial figure in a state-owned enterprise and was coerced into joining an intelligence organization after being lured into an adult entertainment venue during a business trip overseas, according to an article published on the ministry's WeChat account on Tuesday.

Li was invited by a local tour guide to visit the entertainment venue. However, he didn't know that his activities were being monitored and photographed. Li was taken into a conference room by burly foreigners wearing uniforms who suddenly rushed into the room. They threatened to send these photos to Li's superiors unless he joined the spy organization, according to the article.

Filled with fear, Li agreed and was immediately asked to hand over his classified computer. All classified information from the past 10 years stored in the computer was copied and exported by the foreign espionage organization.

Li's unauthorized act of carrying a classified computer outside of China for the sake of convenience constitutes a violation of confidentiality regulations, the article noted.

After returning to China, Li had hoped to get away from the organization. However, his "nightmare" was far from over. The organization asked him to continue providing confidential materials from his enterprise. Li was ultimately apprehended in accordance with the law by state security organs, and will face trial.

The operation was a planned and premeditated endeavor aimed at hunting down its target. Li had been a longstanding target of foreign intelligence agencies, and the tour guide and seductive women accompanying them were all prearranged, said the article.

State security authorities reminded the public that it is crucial to remain extremely cautious and maintain personal integrity. When faced with false accusations or traps, it is essential to stay calm, and report the incident to relevant Chinese authorities.
