On January 26, a commemoration event to mark the 80th anniversary of the lifting of the siege of Leningrad, took place at the Russian Cultural Centre in Beijing.

The event drew guests from China and Russia, including representatives from the Russian Embassy in China, the Russian clubs in Beijing and Harbin, and students from the Russian Embassy School in Beijing and the Russian Cultural Centre's Russian language training class.

The centerpiece of the event was the opening of a photo exhibition showcasing over 100 digitized materials from Russia's Victory Museum's collection, including photos, documents, maps, newspapers, posters, and artworks depicting scenes from the siege of Leningrad.

These materials covered events from the beginning of the city's defense in July 1941 to the festive salvo fired on January 27, 1944, to celebrate the complete lifting of the siege.

Throughout the event, guests were also treated to performances of poetry and songs related to the siege of Leningrad.
