Membership qualification of four political advisors revoked

The Fifth Session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) approved the decision to revoke the membership qualifications of Wu Yansheng, Liu Shiquan, Wang Changqing and Wang Xiaojun of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC, China Central Television reported. 

The 14th National Committee of the CPPCC, or China's national political advisory body, closed the fifth session of its standing committee on Saturday in Beijing.

Previously, on December 27, 2023, the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC held its 12th Chairperson's Council meeting in Beijing, which reviewed and approved the decision to revoke the membership qualifications of Wu Yansheng, Liu Shiquan, and Wang Changqing of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC, and submitted it for retrospective approval at the fifth meeting of the Standing Committee.

Public information shows that Wu Yansheng previously served as the Chairman and Party Secretary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). Wu Yansheng, born in July 1963 in Hanyang, Central China's Hubei Province, joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in December 1994. 

Liu Shiquan previously served as the Chairman and Party Secretary of China North Industries Group Corporation Limited. Liu, born in January 1963 in Hubei, joined the CPC in September 1985. 

Wang Changqing previously served as a senior executive of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC). Wang, born in September 1972, holds a doctoral degree in engineering and is a member of the CPC. 

Wang Xiaojun, born in April 1969, is a member of the CPC. Wang was appointed director of the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology under CASC in June 2019.
