Villager Shen Xianzhong taught himself saxophone and has been holding concerts on his doorstep for more than 10 years in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang Province, according to media reports.

Shen prepared the lighting, carpets, and instruments himself, and the villagers would sing and dance along at the concert, creating a lively atmosphere. He once attracted a 300 strong audience.

"I found myself interested in playing the saxophone when I was 18, and would play it with friends in the park in my free time," Shen said. He added that the concert is his personal initiative, and in addition to playing musical instruments, people sang, danced, and performed Yue opera or magic tricks. The audience were all villagers from nearby.

Shen also taught the saxophone for free to more than 60 villagers, with an average age of over 50. In Shen's view, holding the concerts is all about bringing joy and happiness to the audience. "As long as everyone is delighted, I will keep this concert going," he said.
