During the busy spring farming season, some enterprises in rural areas are promoting a high-tech product that could empower crop seeds using Quantum Technology, sparking heated discussion online.

The merchants claim that using their machines can increase crop yields. According to information from a video clip circulating online, some reporters visited the company behind the technology located in Pingdingshan city, Central China's Henan Province. The company's head, surnamed Ma, told the reporters that quantum empowerment is their core technology, and has been repeatedly tested and verified.

Another company representative stated that this quantum empowerment technology not only shortens the crop growth cycle and increases yield but also helps crops resist drought, flooding, lodging, and pests. He also mentioned that their quantum empowerment technology has a wide range of applications, and all crop seeds can undergo quantum empowerment.

The company claims that quantum empowerment technology can increase crop yields by over 30 percent, shorten the growth cycle, and make crops more resistant to diseases, drought, and flooding. They also state that all crops are suitable for this technology, and in the past five years, there have been no failed cases.

However, further investigation revealed that a farmer from the village in Yexian county had quantum-empowered peanut seeds last year but did not achieve the expected increase in yield.

Experts explained that quantum is the smallest unit of various physical quantities such as mass, energy, and volume. Although it possesses many unique advantages, the conditions under which these properties arise are stringent.

Experts warned farmers and consumers that the use of quantum technology for agricultural seeds or commonly seen farming products in the market is fundamentally unachievable and should not be promoted. They recommended that during the current busy spring farming season, market supervision departments should not only crack down on counterfeit agricultural supplies but also address fake technologies and pseudoscience that deceive and harm farmers.
