Uruguayan photographer Marcelo Cattani's exhibition Uruguay, a Small Great Country opened at the 798 Art District in Beijing on July 4.

Hosted by the Uruguayan Embassy in China and the Uruguay Art Space, the event gathered a number of representatives from the Chinese and Uruguayan cultural and artistic communities.

The exhibition showcased Cattani's vivid depictions of Uruguayan rural life, capturing vivid landscapes and the essence of daily life.

His award-winning works from New York were also displayed, highlighting the blend of vibrant colors and intricate compositions. This photography exhibition was held within the framework of the 65th anniversary of legislative exchanges between Uruguay and China. The works showcase the diversity of Uruguay's historical and contemporary culture, inviting people to delve into the hearts of the Uruguayan people.

As a country of immigrants, Uruguay's culture is characterized by the intertwining and fusion of different styles, with some of the most symbolically significant moments in art history coexisting harmoniously on Uruguay's streets and public spaces. The event not only celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Uruguay but also strengthens the cultural ties between China and Uruguay.
