In response to a media question about Chinese Embassy in the US' social media post that China is ready for a tariff war, a trade war, or any other type of war with the US, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Wednesday that the ministry has already stated China's solemn position on the relevant issue.

The US side insists on using the fentanyl issue as a pretext to once again impose additional tariffs on Chinese exports to the US. China has repeatedly made clear its opposition and taken legitimate and necessary countermeasures. If the US truly wishes to resolve the fentanyl issue, it should consult with China on the basis of equality, respect, and reciprocity, and address both sides' concerns, Lin said.

If the US has other motives and insists on harming China's interests, we will definitely stand our ground to the end, Lin noted.

"We urge the US to put away its bullying rhetoric and return to the right track of dialogue and cooperation at an early date," Lin said.
