YUNDA Holding Group Co, a leading delivery business in China, released an announcement on Thursday addressing the investigation by China’s State Post Bureau into its subsidiary over safety management loopholes.

The group pledged to undertake a comprehensive rectification process and enhance its parcel inspection procedure.

Upon receiving the notice of investigation on its subsidiary Shanghai Yunda Express Co, the group took swift move to form a special task force dedicated to conducting a comprehensive internal investigation. In light of the management issues within the express delivery services of its franchise outlets, the group has launched immediate rectification measures, the company said.

Going forward, the group is committed to enhancing its management and control over franchise outlets. The group will optimize its parcel inspection process, intensify training programs for franchisees to boost their ability to detect disguised products, and is determined to take all necessary steps to prevent similar mishaps from occurring in the future, the company said.

China's State Post Bureau (SPB) said on Wednesday that it has launched an investigation into express delivery provider Yunda Express for significant loopholes in its safety management of contracted customers, which allowed fraudulent promotional materials to enter the delivery channels, causing substantial losses to victims.

The investigation was triggered by incidents involving some franchisees of Yunda Express, which were found to have distributed scam-related promotional materials via Yunda's courier services, resulting in significant financial losses for victims, according to a statement on the official website of the SPB on Wednesday.

"Shanghai Yunda Express Co has failed to manage its franchisees effectively and bears responsibility for not implementing unified safety assurance measures as required," said the statement, adding that the SPB initiated the investigation in accordance with the law.
